Liz

Liz has been delivering training on Addaction’s SMARTScheme (NVQ3) and NEXT Project since 2005. A historian by training, her interest lies in the social history of substance misuse and service provision in the UK, particularly the ‘British System’. As someone who came to education late in life, she is passionate about the learning experience and believes that education can be a truly empowering and transformative experience. She also believes that despite the apparent seriousness of the subject, learning can be and should be fun.

Liz's specialities include Dual Diagnosis, the Structure of the Substance Misuse Sector, and Boundaries. Liz is widely known among trainees for being the only person that has the ability to make Health & Safety training interesting!
